Our Mission

More Than Just a Cafe

Bean Around Books is proudly owned and operated by Pathfinder Youth Centre Society — a non-profit dedicated to empowering young people in our community.

Youth Employment Program

Our 12-week paid employment program provides youth aged 15-30 with hands-on work experience in a supportive cafe and bookstore environment.

  • Barista and customer service training
  • First Aid & Serving It Right certification
  • Resume building and job readiness skills
  • Supportive mentorship environment

Community Impact

We work with youth facing barriers to employment — whether it's mental health challenges, addiction recovery, or language barriers. Our goal is to help them build confidence and get back on track.

"We just try to get them back on track."
— Ruth Lee, Co-Founder

Every coffee you buy, every book you take home, directly supports these programs and the young people in our community.
